Note the metal parts pointed towards the back of the violin. This rest slipped loose while I was playing and scratched my century-old instrument. If you have a large chest and shoulders it will not hook over your shoulder—it Is not long enough.
The viola version is too small for a 16” viola.

for those saying that the exposed metal has scratched their instrument, have you tried putting something over it? i would think a substance similar to museum wax or thick piece of cloth?
