There have been an unusually large number of incidents with Delta in recent weeks.

Is it me, or airplane 'malfunctions' and accidents are progressively increasing?

Have we ever had this many airplane related incidents in the first half of the year like we have in 2025? This seems almost weekly

For those swearing off flying, put things in perspective. You and almost everyone you know has someone they know who died in a car accident, while its likely no one you personally know died in an airline disaster. The likilihood is two orders of magnitude (100x) greater (42000 a year versus 200-300 among 4.5 BILLION flyers), and yet you probably drive or ride in a car routinely. The number of people who die in bus fatalities is more that half that of airline deaths, but there's few people swearing off bus rides or keeping their school children home for safety reasons. Plane incidents grab headlines, but remain statistically rare.

These events seem to happen several times a month now.

Don’t know about boycotting travel to the U.S.A & the risks of being detained, it would seem it’s no longer safe to fly so many aircraft incidents lately….

The claim that former President Donald Trump suggested firing many air traffic controllers and proposed that "all you need is one person with a pair of binoculars, a flashlight, and a walkie-talkie" reflects a misunderstanding of the complexities involved in air traffic management. This statement oversimplifies the role of air traffic controllers and ignores the sophisticated systems in place that are essential for maintaining safety in increasingly crowded airspace.

Doesn't sound like there is any quality control these days.

What happens when government relaxes “burdensome” business and safety regulations while dismantling agencies.

That initial reporter said the plane caught fire on the runway. That's no runway! That's the ramp, probably taxing out. Get your facts straight, lady.
