Cone; 20-3 in 1988. One of the more underappreciated years in the history of baseball!

A's vs Mets would have been an awesome matchup. Two powerhouse teams going against each other.

As a Mets fan this series hurt big time as we were spoiled by ‘86 heroic comebacks.

Losing to the Dodgers was unexpected, especially since the Mets won all but one game against them during the regular season. The Mets had a very strong team in '88 so it was a bitter pill to swallow when the Dodgers beat them in the playoffs.

David Cone should have pitched like this during Game 2...instead of writing newspaper articles that insulted the Dodgers team...

Here, getting ready for the NLCS, loved Cone

I remember this game well. If only Cone had been on point in Game 2, this would've been the close out win for the Mets perhaps.

I remember this game wasn't a big deal because Hershiser was going the next game.

This series probably should have ended in 6 games with the Mets winning, but that 9th inning of game 4 did the job on them.

Gibby must have taken a bite out of the team bus after that performance
