The 1921 Census showed that Igbos had the largest population in Nigeria.

Igbos - 21.09%
Hausa - 17.91%
Yoruba - 13.47%
Fulani - 10.47%
Ibibio - 5.5%
Kanuri - 3.42%
Edo - 2.54%

The way the Northern region was drawn is comical. The North goes below the River Niger & River Benue.

I know you just pulled some maps off online. However, some of those maps are inaccurate and does not represent the true distribution of Igboland. Those are anti-Igbo politically motivated map.
