Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a 2023 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the characters Scott Lang / Ant-Man and Hope Pym / Wasp. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sequel to Ant-Man (2015) and Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) and the 31st film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Peyton Reed, written by Jeff Loveness, and stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, alongside Jonathan Majors, Kathryn Newton, David Dastmalchian, Katy O'Brian, William Jackson Harper, Bill Murray, Michelle Pfeiffer, Corey Stoll, and Michael Douglas. In the film, Lang and Van Dyne are transported to the Quantum Realm along with their family and face Kang the Conqueror (Majors).

Plans for a third Ant-Man film were confirmed in November 2019, with Reed and Rudd returning. Loveness was hired by April 2020, with development on the film beginning during the COVID-19 pandemic. The film's title and new cast members were announced in December 2020. Filming in Turkey began in early February 2021, while additional filming occurred in San Francisco in mid-June, ahead of principal photography starting at the end of July at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire and ending in November.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania premiered in Los Angeles on February 6, 2023, and was released in the United States on February 17, 2023, as the first film in Phase Five of the MCU. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the performances (particularly those of Rudd, Majors, and Pfeiffer) and visuals, but criticized the writing and inconsistent tone. The film has grossed over $363 million worldwide, becoming the third highest-grossing film of 2023.

Might just be me, but the Civil War suit looks much better in illustration than it does in the actual movie

I thought the Wasp suit in Quantumania was the one instance where the yellow and black mix where the black separation kinda worked imo as the mix of yellow and black properly gave off the colors of an actual wasp which I thought was cool. It was more Ant Man and Cassie’s that didn’t do it for me with the constant over detail

Ant Man first MCU was the best one. Civil War and Quantumania were cool. I wish we saw more of the classic costume in Endgame.

The first ant man suit imo was one of the best. The wasp suit in quantumania was great as well🔥

The 2018/End Game suit is my favorite and it's what I am doing a replica-level cosplay of. It was the best of both the original more retro 2015 suit, and the 2016 Civil War suit. It has that classic more ant-like feel, but still incorporated the more modern design of the Civil War suit while removing the more bulky elements of it.

Quantumania was the biggest miss for me. WAY overdesigned.

Personally, Wasp's suit in Quantumania may be one of the best suits in the MCU. I just love how unapologetically colorful it is. The contrast from the yellow and black with a vibrant blue as the mid-tone is legitimately perfect. I have no qualms with it at all. It may be a bit busy, but the business still has a sense of continuity, like it's all going in the same direction. It's a perfect MCU-ified suit that's also visually distinct. I personally hate the bronze one from AMatW and the prototype from the tag in the first one isn't much better to me. We have way too many characters with muted colors, and tho it would be cool to see a sleeveless suit, it's not a deal-breaker to have sleeves.

I love the color in Scott's suit in Quantumania as well, but I do think his does suffer from non-functional over design. Civil War remains the cleanest, and I am most fond of that one as well.

yellow jacket suit is one of my favorite villain designs and suits in general, they had no reason to make it this hard

I really hate Ant-Man’s suit from the third movie, it’s way too much.

The Ant-Man & Wasp suit was perfect. They could've just kept it as is with a few color changes.

Hope’s new Wasp suit is so good. EXCEPT WHY ARE THERE BLUE LINES ON IT?? Seriously, just make them grey, or gunmetal, or a reflective black even! There’s no need for the blue and it looks so totally out of place

The nanotech antman suit fills me with disappointment. I loved the practical suit in the first movie

personally the quantumania suit is not too bad, it takes a lot of design and shapes from the 2015 suit but personally it needs more red and has too many silver bits on the arms and missing the shiny silver belt

I think you could’ve also have mentioned the Ant-Man suit from Edgar Wright’s leaked test footage.

I love Janet’s Wasp suit. It’s my favorite of the shrinking suits. I also really like Antman 3’s Wasp and Stinger suits but hate the new Antman suit.

Every hero in civil war was dripped out both in the movie and comic.

18:45 I'd be interested in how you'd rank Super Sentai or Kamen Rider suits. I don't really watch those shows, but like you mentioned in the beginning, superhero suits look really appealing to me, and those franchises have some of my favorite aesthetics for superhero suits.

Suit from the 2012 sdcc test footage? I actually prefer that one from the final design in 2015

The civil war suit was only in one scene? That's... Bizarre

For me, one of the marks of a good costume design is how accurately you can draw it from memory. Too many of these MCU suits have unnecessary lines and panels, that don't even follow the curves of the human form, so they end up looking like a jigsaw puzzle.
