This has actually made me cry. So like when you worked with me in Baden. We worked Muhvoll, by Wolf. YOU WERE SO KIND TO ME! You kept saying, "Pull it through the nose, Barney." You came up to my face and sang the F# s with me!! Such a sound. You changed my singing forever. And, I can tell you that one night, late, dear Max Dean came to my room and we talked about you. He told me you were always his favorite.Before you arrived we worked with Jorg Demos. I loved him! He said always, "Elly Ameling does it this way!" Please continue to do these. You make me happy.

seit 40 Jahren sind Sie meine Lieblingssängerin im Fach Klavier.

Ihre Stimme ist so charakteristisch, daß ich schon bei den ersten
Gesangstönen beider Fassungen wußte, wer da singt.

Bei den Klavierbegleitern war es da schon schwieriger, die beim
ersten Hören zu erkennen.

Baldwin war mit Sicherheit ein guter Begleiter, aber am liebsten
höre ich Sie von Rudolf Jansen begleitet, den ich ebenfalls sehr
verehre.

Wenn Sie heute beide Interpretationen vergleichen: Ich denke,
daß ein Liedbegleiter einen Sänger nicht nur trägt, sondern auch
die Interpretation eines Solisten mitprägt. Durch eben diese
Dinge, die Sie selber anführen: Agogik, dynamische Gestaltung,
Klangfarben etc ...
(Da hat mich gerade Andras Schiff ein wenig enttäuscht ...)

Ihre kleine Serie "Nachdenken über Musik" finde ich sehr charmant
und für mich (mein Steckenpferd ist Liedgestaltung und -begleitung)
inspirierend.

Schade, daß ich Sie nie im Konzert erlebt habe!

When chords are indicated to be broken, the subsequent chords should also be broken, rhythmically. The top note on the beat, briskly or slowly.

The chord in the sixth bar should be broken. I think both recordings are too fast, and the piano is not leggiero at all.
