The UW Symphony is made up of music majors, double-majors and students from departments across campus. They rehearse twice weekly, and perform at least two concerts per quarter, for a total of six per year at the acclaimed Meany Center for the Performing Arts. Each year, the orchestra works with faculty soloists and Seattle Symphony members and other guests soloists and conductors. Yearly collaborations include those with choirs and with concerto competition winners. Under the leadership of Dr. David A. Rahbee since the fall of 2013, the UW Symphony has performed over two hundred twenty-five works, spanning from the early baroque through contemporary.
