So, I am not sure what my problem is. I have 25 reviews, one editorial review, and won an award from the editorial website for Best Action/Adventure Book of 2019. I think my description is good, but I am not sure. I feel like I just cannot get the word out to readers about my book. Thanks for the video by the way! It has given me a lot more to think about!

Reviews are difficult. I struggle a lot with getting those. If you have any suggestions on reviews, please make more videos on that!

My publisher just copied and past a stock photo to my book and didnt doctor it up or anything.

But what about troll reviews, i.e. someone who you can clearly tell has not read it but has left a one sentence scathing review? How do you find a potential reader sees these types of reviews?

This video is perfectly times as I came across and old post you did on Quora. I was wondering if you still feel everything you posted is still on target or if there is anything that has changed. Second question regarding this video...you said only people in the top 20 in a category can make real money....that's a pretty tough nut to crack...a mere 20 slots and millions of books vying for them. The odds seem dismal and it would seem to support this quora post from

"I don't think there is an "average" - the vast majority of books sell less than ten copies. $100 a year, as John K. says, is a good guess, but if that's "average", consider than 50% of the books published don't make even that much. Actually I'd bet it's far more than 50%. In my experience, at least 90% of books will fail, maybe even 95-99%. "Fail"= earn less than $100 a year.

But that's because, a small handful of books, maybe a thousand a year (out of at least a million books published), make all the money.

Personally I want my books to stay above the 10, 000 sales rank on Amazon. At 99cents each, they'll make several hundreds dollars a month. At 2.99, they'll make several thousand.

I have friends who only have one or two books out, but they are making $70, 000 to $250, 000 a month. Half the books on the Amazon bestsellers lists are indie authors."
