having 3 points of contact will always make weapon manipulation feel more fluid, but aiming is all up to your own skill lol

the reason why they aren't too different is because in bonelab the stock and your body are both physical objects in the game, which means they collide and help the stability of the virtual gun

I love Pavlov's "virtual stock". I don't know exactly how it works but it makes it seriously easy to aim two handed weapons with just the motion controllers. Wish more games had it

“And so that day, Countless lives have been lost. We have a word with the assailant.”
“Why would you slaughter multiple innocent lives on this tragic day Sir..?”
“For the Funni.”
“The Funni?”
“The Funni.”

May not make you better at the game but it definitely makes it more immersive. Wouldn’t spend money on it but might cobble something together if I have the parts laying around.

In most VR games, guns are just weightless pieces of geometry glued to your hands. It fully relies on holding your arms out and keeping your hands as still as possible. Games like Pavlov and Vail would benefit most from VR stocks to keep the weapon straight. Boneworks and Bonelab have physics based weapons with real weight and recoil. The solid tension between your two hands make the weapons significantly easier to keep straight. One top of being able to stabilize it even more by adding the third point of contact by resting the stock on your virtual shoulder.

I feel it's less about the accuracy more about the realism aspect of having a structure in your shoulder and hands

Sanlaki is a good company for gunstocks

I got the forcetube scout haptic gunstock that simulates recoil and not only has it boosted my immersion but it improved my performance and consistency especially with the optional bipod I'll use when sniping lol

ig bonelab’s virtual shoulder system that was carried on from boneworks is extremely good

It sure as hell makes it feel a lot better and gives you a bit more physical input to go with for reloads and aiming, for me aiming without a stock is weird.

Gunstocks make the game more immersing

I have tried it… it can sleep you over with some guns like long rifles, but others like SMGs can really help.

Me realising he held the stock upside down:

I think it was devil dog gamer who made his own DIY VR rifle controller where it was like a rifle you'd stick your handpieces in and then you had all 3 contact points for control. I think he made it retractable aswell so for SMGs it could be smaller and bigger rifles it would be longer

Stocks are made for handling recoil. I can see that recoil is visually represented but having a gun move in your hands is different. Makes a world of difference in real life. Especially when you get to rounds larger than 80 grain and still traveling over the speed of sound.
