As an Icelander, this just made me ten kinds of happy. My two favourites were the nation's favourites (which rarely happens!), and happy as I am with the winner, I would've been happy either way. Daði was unlucky to go up against Svala (who won by a landslide) but I hope to hear more from him in the future. This song is fantastic.

Daði Freyr got his fair share of publicity and now he is quite well-known in Iceland. He has some studying to do, so it is probably good that Svala is heading to Kyiv in May.
I wish him all the luck in the nearest future and in other projects.

Can't remember when I have last time felt so dissapointed. I really hoped they would have won and voted for them aswell. :( I think Svalas performance was boring, and there is 10 songs like that in Eurovision each year. I doubt she even gets to finals.

Spotify brought me here so I had to see if they represented Iceland before but km delighted to find they kept their image up in 2020 with the jumpers, honestly thing they can win such a bop

I'm here, I love this song, going deeper to find more of their songs. Such a great band. I really really wanted to see them in 2020 but that will not happen unfortunately. Didn't know we could have them in 2017 as well. That would've been great!

Honestly, If this had WON it would have skyrocketed in my Tops List. It would have beaten Italy hands down. Unfortunate Iceland... :( Paper is only 21st in my list. from Australia

This was the first Eurovision competition I've ever seen (at my daughter's; she and her friends have Eurovision parties every year), and I found most of the entries bland and Vegas-esque, and then Dadi came on, and I knew that was going to win. The group is lovable, sweet, witty, fun, and engaging. All of us watching knew that "Paper" had "celeb" going for it, but there was no way "Is this Love" would not win. Alas :(
