My man just deleted a whole ocean in seconds with nothing more than a snap of his fingers

Never ended up finding a fix to get rid of water in this game outside of "draining it" to the Underworld, figured they made it "uncheesable", entirely unlike Minecraft's water. Thanks for the great tutorial, will have to try this!!

Egg in the water, water in the egg in the water.

Actually, you only need one chest! Do this trick with only one chest and the hole of lava, start the process, then save and quit. Once you return, the water will immediately be gone!

I kept making a hole into the underworld in order to drain the oceans this helps a lot thank you

placing coin piles instead of chests also works for a fraction of the cost

One way to make it faster is to exit the game and re-enter it. This will automatically move all liquids in motion to a 'settled' state where they are not in motion. In this case until no water exists anymore.

I actually remember figuring this out a long time ago when I first started playing Terraria It also works with gravestones which was the main way I emptied out big bodies of water while I was making hellevators

I absolutely never thought of this. This is great, Khaios!

Thanks, very useful! Happy that you are back and making so much content again. Hope you're doing well, im gonna make some new worlds and destroy them and drain the oceans for fun.

Even pumps work surprisingly fast. I built a pirate ship base out there a long time ago and when i pumped the water out, it flooded a huge portion of the map before i shut it off

I've always preferred to mine to the underworld, does the job and floods the underworld which is always amusing to me.

Reminds me of the time my friend removed Left Ocean from our multi-player world. He used the Mining Drill mount and dug a huge hole to the underworld, we struck a deal that he leave right ocean alone as we needed at least one ocean biome

Can't wait to jump into shimmer with this cool trick

To make it work more satisfyingly: put actuators, wire, and a switch on the temporary blocks and when ready to drain, flip the switch.

On my 2ds me and my brother accidently drained the ocean on the left side of our world as we made a lot of tunnels on the surface of the world, which led to the underworld where the water was consumed

Took me a second to realize why this works

Liquids can pass through chests

Blocks cannot be made on top of chests, water tries to become obsidian upon contact but gets deleted as it cannot become obsidian(lava doesn’t deplete as lava tile doesn’t get replaced by obsidian tile

I remember the good ol’ days of getting a two-for-one deal on this. Dig a hellevator from the ocean to hell, drain the ocean and flood hell so it’s actually easier to navigate.

Kinda worked better after an update where hell ate water and it just made an obsidian shelf on the lava seas.
