What people fail to realize is this is not a simple referundum for catalonia, if catalonia gained many regions in europe would see this a push for their independence agenda when they have no historical right. There are regions for example in france and belgium that want independence, and this would disintegrate the EU

The Mexican Americans have more claim for independence on the whole western part of the United States than the Catalans will ever have in Spain. If you would argue that cultural, ethnic and historic dwelling governs the right for independence, then the Mexican Americans have a much stronger claim for claiming the entire western United States as an independent country from the United States of America, the United States of Mexico and the Kingdom of Spain, for that "historic" matter! So, if you think Catalonia deserves independence, then just give all the western United States to "La Raza" Chicano Power - Mexican American, and recognize it as the Aztlan Nation.

The Catalan argument fomenting this independence movement is based on corrupt politicians wanting to break the law in hopes of keeping fraudulently obtained funds.

As a Brit, screw the bullying EU. Let Catalonia vote like we Brits did for Brexit. Give independence to all the European countries and stuff the EU and unelected champagne sipping bureaucrats running it.

This a very complex issue that could mess with the geopolitical territory of europe. People need to think first before saying free catalonia. But the prime minister of spain is a fool because he has done more to push catalonia independence with this violence than what catalonia citizens could ever achieved

I agree with Spain. Catalonia is Spanish territory and without it it will severely hurt their economy. That's like a state in the U.S. trying to leave the U.S., it's not going to happen just like it won't for Catalonia.

Spain used to say that talking about independence in Spain was not possible becuase of the militar fight of ETA. Now ETA is dissarmed and what is the reason not to talk about the independence of Catalonia and Basque Country?
The reason is that Spain is not a democratic Country.
