Thank you so much. I uninstalled VirtuaBox but my disk did not go down in size so I was annoyed but I reinstalled VirtualBox and did the steps exactly instructed by you and bang, it was a success.

i have installed the kali linux 2017.3 on my Oracle VM virtualbox, if i will do this same process you talking about will completely uninstall the kali linux in Oracle VM virtualbox???

So there lets say i have a fixed size windows 8 dev preview on my mac this way. Deleting that folder will remove ALL of the win 8 files?

If you put the virtual machine hard drive on the physical e:\, then you formatted the physical e:\, the virtual machine hard drive will be gone.

I have deleted VM from Virtual machine by selecting "deleting all files " followed to that I have deleted folder from User folder---however still it is reflecting "docker-machine ls"

I have a question, too. Example, If I have more like a 1gb file saved in the virtual HDD then I didn't delete it and I removed the VM, but when I look in user folder to delete complete as you said, the files there were just KB. So, What happened to the 1gb file I saved in the VM?

I need some help, I wanted to install windows xp on my hdd.I created a
.vdi file and set it to take up 10gb of my hdd.Then I deleted the
VirtualBox VMs folder including only the windows xp folder inside, the
actual size of it was 2 or 4mb.Does this free up my 10gb that i set when
i created the .dvi??

hello LPCL team,  
After power cut my Virtual Machine is not starting and I wanted to delete the .vmdk, .vbox files.
I'm not able to delete the file/ folder. I'm not getting that option. For other folders I am able to see the 'Delete' option in the right-click context menu.
Please help me to delete the file.
FIle system of this disk is: exFAT
'Disacard Saved State' option on machine is also greyed-out.

in the new version when u click delete all, it will literally delete everything including the second step

Well if the virtual machine still exists and it's on, then it will be using RAM from the physical server. If the virtual machine is off, or deleted, then it will not be using RAM on the physical server.
