I just wanted to clarify why we do this. Believe it or not, Brandon and I are not rich (I work retail at Best Buy part time and he works as a software consultant). The truth is, we saw enough people and friends with broken devices that we thought maybe consumers didn't really know the limits of their devices. We try to show exactly what those limits are so consumers can consider what, if any, protection their devices would need. We are paying out of pocket until we find a sponsor.-Darren

I have a ipad 2 (I'm watching this on it) mine works amazing for me and is sturdy it is cracked only because my friend hit it hard on the screen with somethig. But it never cracked until then and it still works fine.

@jcyber777 We do. At the moment, we pay for all the devices you see drop tested and all costs of production. Why? Because we see videos of reckless destruction of devices get millions of hits all the time. Why not make a video that is actually useful to the consumer? In the years I have worked at Best Buy, I've been amazed at how many people come back in with stories of how their devices broke on 1 or two foot falls. At least this way, people know if they need a case or insurance ahead of time.

My iPad 2 has guts showing everywhere around the screen glass falling out every week showing more. Still works like a champ tho. Corners are all rounded and bent up concaving (bowling) slightly the whole pad put its still going strong.

@RedDevilSaul I've worked at Best Buy for several years. You'd be amazed how many people come back with busted screens on those suckers. Especially since parents with kids are one of their biggest demographics. Don't get us wrong, we actually think iPad is one of the best tablets out there, it just needs some EXTRA special protection. -Darren

I have the iPad 2 xD
One time I dropped it on the side where the speaker is, and ever since then randomly my speakers or volume will have this screeching sound and I have to restart the iPad and it's fine afterwards
Or my iPad will freeze (just happened a few days ago when my friend was using it)
I had this since it first came out lol
I've dropped it only maybe 5 times and its still fine
The case I use it just a stand kind of case, and it's really thick, so if my iPad falls, the case is practically like a cushioning to my iPad ahah

Anyways I was glad to find a drop test video, because I was curious on the durability of my iPad

They dropped it on it's corner twice, there are other drop tests where they last much longer, but even with the smashed screen they still work unlike, nexus 7, playbook and the surface.

I used to have a iPad 2 and broke it twice. Once when I threw a toy car at it, and when it fell on the chair. Now I have a iPad Air 2.

i have an ipad 2 im not using now its dead lol but ive had it forever i got it used there is tiny dents in it (on the sides) but it works fine the only problem is sometimes the screen goes green and i just gently bang it on one of the corners and its fine
