Ok got it working on my laptop after installing OEM drivers for dongle and some messing around with COM port configurations and services.

why is that my Bluetooth Kestrel 4000 NV work for a bit now i cant get them to connect keep getting unhandled exception all the time now i looked into compatibility windows 8 is the highest it'll go no windows 10 is there any other way other than buying a third kestrel just to make this thing work ANY Suggestions.

I'm going to try on a different computer (although still using the same Bluetooth USB dongle) tonight and see if I have any more luck. I've successfully connected to my Kestrel over Bluetooth from WeatherBird and KestrelCrumbs on my Galaxy Nexus though sadly both apps are unstable in 4.1.1 and keep crashing on me.

No luck, I've tried removing and re-pairing with my Kestrel several times (which works) and changing COM ports, uninstalling the Kestrel Communicator, USB drivers, reconnecting the Bluetooth dongle but I keep getting an "Unable to communicate" error. There are always two COM ports available as Windows 7 creates an Incoming and an Outgoing COM port when you add the device. I've tried changing settings, deleting the Incoming port, manually adding the Outgoing port, turning off FIFO etc.
