Vaccine Policy: World leaders praise India’s class act

Less than 2 months since vaccine rollout, India has emerged as a world leader in terms of not only domestic policy but also as the world's leading producer of vaccines. So far, more than 2.4 crore covid vaccine doses have been administered in India. Moreover, India has donated or sold covid vaccines to more than 65 countries including Brazil, Bangladesh, South Africa and the UAE. In fact, India is also set to send 4.5 crore doses of home-made covid-19 vaccines to Pakistan under an agreement with vaccine alliance GAVI. According to the latest data, nearly 580 lakh doses have been supplied in all. About 163 lakh doses have been supplied under Covax, 77 lakh doses under grant and 338 lakh doses under commercial deals
