Back then we heard this on the radio, but you never saw them perform unless they were on one of the few TV shows (Glen Campbell or Smothers Brothers, etc.) on the 3 networks, or if you saw them in concert. This is the first time to see Dusty's moves while she performs. Thanks Beth.

As well as that gorgeous tone, Dusty swings like crazy. Great timing and rhythm. She learnt that from Peggy Lee.

My all time favourite female singer, with songs like..'Spooky'..'Wishin and Hopin'.. 'I just Don't Know What To Do With Myself', and many more.

Oh man! My parents raised us on "oldies". Stuff like this, Motown, etc. Just incredible music to build our own styles on.

An old favourite of mine - not only because it's such a great relaxed soul number, but because it so effortlessly segues into that more punchy last half, with the funky ride cymbal leading the beat and contrasting with Dusty's laid-back style.

Another sang by Dusty Springfield is “the Look of Love”. I would enjoy seeing you listening to Diana Krall’s version of that song.

❤❤❤Dusty ❤❤❤ The one and only voice of Miss Dusty Springfield and all her smooth pitch perfect tones wrapped inside of the emotional currents is the only way to experience this song. Outstanding

A great singer who went to the States, took 'em on on their home turf and won hearts and minds there. Loved and admired by casual listeners and professionals alike.

Hello there Ms. Beth, long time no see. It must be due to my algorithm or you violated your ;) Never seen this video or singer but I will admit the very first thing that pops into my head hearing this is my favorite movie of all time. "Pulp Fiction". Nice to put a face to this song. Keep out of trouble so I can see more of your vids. :)

You know what they say about preachers' kids. LOL Always loved this song. Loved Aretha's cover too. Aretha was also a preacher's kid.

I agree wholeheartedly that her voice has a sensual texture. In my opinion this is one of the most sensual vocals I've ever heard. I feel seduced, yet she's singing about someone else!! I get a similar feel from Haley's "Creep". Just stunned. .

Love this song! Thanks for your analysis. 🥰

A funny song about when my son was younger, I'd play this and he thought he was saying "son of a creature man" 😂

Gives it a different meaning 😆

Unquestionably the greatest of the 60s British pop divas. My fave is the beguiling Goffin-King number 'Goin' Back', a typically 60s big production which charted only moderately, but her love of Motown shines through here. I wish she'd done more Bacharach. She made the definitive version of 'The Look of Love'. Dusty was a somewhat troubled, insecure lady whose star quality faded by the 70s. She drove her producers to distraction by recording every note individually. She was terrified of the media exposing her homosexuality and given to binge drinking. She also had a habit of throwing crockery which she would buy by the boxful for the purpose. A voice still loved by many, including me. Thanks Beth.
