Betaflight 3.0 Quick Tip: Larson LED effect setup

In this video we look at the Larson effect for Betaflight 3.0 and WS2812 LEDs. This effect makes the LEDs sweep and looks like the front of KITT from Knight Rider or the eyes of a Cylon from Battlestar Galatica!

Another great feature. My latest build has 2- 5 led vertical strips in the back, wonder what it will look like with this effect.

Everyone will have their own ideas, of course, but I find that a single high wattage LED on the front (white) and back (red) provides sufficient clues for orientation.

I have previously played with various multi LED patterns and colours controlled via an RC channel but the novelty soon wore off and I reverted to single steady LEDs.

love this ! make me feel like a kid watching battle star galactica . i have swapped most of my sp3 boards for X racer boards as am not that computer savvy and just wanted a simple hard wearing fc with out all the knobs and whistles , not sure an x racer board can do this but it's super cool , keep up the good work !

Can the Larson scanner mode be used if you set different colors for each LED along a strip? i.e. can you use slightly different colors along a strip to create a gradient, and then turn on the Larson Scanner to have it scan in a gradiented way? Or does it only work with a single color?

1:50 what happended there at the right motor? i got that twitching too in betaflight 3.0, while disarmed and while flying.
i tried lowering min command to 980, recalibrated the escs and tried oneshot125 or multishot. all same problems.

Hello painless, I got a bit of a problem, cleanflight was all OK yesterday. I have 2 working quads & I went out today had a crash in one so I went home to calibrate the ESC's as one motor not spinning properly. But cannot connect to cleanflight. So I tried my other working quad & nothing. I have a sealed naze in its wrapping not used so I tried that but to no avail. Matched the baud rates blue led on flashing green led but can not connect never mind flash it. So I restored my windows 10 tablet re downloaded cleanflight only to still have the problem. I have also downloaded the android flashing app on my phone & still nothing. It's like cleanflight has taken a dislike to me. I just can't see why it would just stop working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I want to mount one in the front and one in rear. How do I connect it up? Just splice the + and - with the other led strip, and use the same input on the flight controller?

Painless360. I could really use some help on setting up led lights on betaflight. I have 6 sets of led lights on my quad. I am using the lumenier led pdb and then wiring the 6th led board in series to the 5th board. How do I know which squares to use for each led board? (Total 32 leds)

Have you updated the led mount on thingiverse? it's just that I can't find the print your using in this video. Cheers Stu
