I just wanted to post a comment to thank you. I have extreme social anxiety and depression and always let my hair grown in too long (like for 2+years). It's very, very heavy and makes me sweat, particularly at work. I have a hair stylist I love, I've been going to her since I was 6, but I always feel like I'm bothering her when I make an appointment or ask her to cut my bangs even though she said she would do it for free for me.
I got so frustrated with my life, and my hair felt like something I could control. I lost my roommate who used to dye my hair, so I learned how it do it myself, and I used to just wing cutting my bangs, but I wanted it to be good. I wanted to look good for once, but I can't pull myself to go anywhere but work and bed.
I pulled myself to the bathroom and followed your tips, and blended my bangs with my hair and ended up cutting 7 inches off (don't worry, it's still over 2 feet long so you can't even tell). My hair looks amazing, and I feel so proud of myself for learning that if need be, I can make myself feel pretty,
I'm sorry for the long comment, but in a very hard time in my life, you gave me some much needed pride. Thank you again.
