Just to be clear, if you were watching the game, The reason why Pickford is smiling after the free kick hit the crossbar is NOT because he messed up or felt like he'd made a blunder. The reason he is smiling is because he was smiling at Allan in a way to say, I told you so. Before the kick, Pickford was screaming Allan's name and urging him to move left, to block that avenue where the kick came in from. Allan was basically saying back to Pickford, before the kick, "I know what I'm doing, ok?" Allan also gave Pickford the cold shoulder. But then when mason Mount kicks the ball, Allan and Pickford both move right, essentially freeing up the goal. Undoubtedly, Pickford was smiling because it was lucky, but not just for him! It would've actually been Allan's fault if Mason Mount's Free Kick went in because Allan was the poor defender in that situation.
