I'm an A1 level student, and even though you'd think it'd be a lot easier for beginners, this is the kind of listening we get in our class for practice. This is what we'll get in our exam, so as tough as it might seem, this actually IS for beginners.

Why all the hate? Listen too it again and again and your brain will gradually make sense of it.

The context of the language is very simple, you need to spend time working on it. Do you think people in real life will speak slowly and cater for you all the time? No. Learning a language is a steep learning curve.

couldn't comprehend most of the dialogue
but i heard the world "Auto" in the dialogue so I got it correct
seems catching the keyword is always the most important thing to do

How is this for beginners?! Ich bin so verlassen :(

for those wondering; werfen has to go to the end, but in this context it seems to mean; cast or take a look at something (the book, in this case).

I few months ago I could understand nothing, now coming back I could understand 100%! I'm so glad! But I gotta say, this is NOT for absolute beginners

It's still too difficult for purely absolutely beginners like me. I think i need to go through alphabets and pronunciation first....

Guys, even when you prepare for the B1 diploma, the speakers are *always* faster than you. The point of listening exercises is to help you focus & understand the gist for a regular german conversation, not that of your fellow classmates. Even if you passed a listening exam in flying colors, it wouldn't mean that you are comforable with the speed of the speech, or that you clearly got every word (trust me, you'll miss many words you actually know). It would just mean that you are great at getting the gist.

Love these, find them really helpful. I like that they're speaking at a normal pace that would be used in real life

I got the answer right because I was reading the comments first while waiting for the ad to finish. Lol. Kidding aside, Germans love speaking fast (Im not complaining. It's something I have observed) Dang, this language is tough. I have a long way to go. This video is 10 years old but they're very useful to enhance my listening skills.

It is about understanding the keywords as "das Auto", not necessarily the whole conversation.

Lol, I only got "auto" and like "a moment, 'bitte'", and got it right. I only started with Duolingo today. That comes to show how cognates and intonation help

is funny how I only know the word car in German and that's the only word I heard so I got it right somehow😂
