I watched a DJ the other day on Twitch faking scratching, I can't scratch but could still see plain as day he was faking it, annoyed the heck out of me so much.

there’s a lot of DJs on TikTok including A-Trak. the thing is the algorithm doesn’t pick it up as good as really cheesy stuff. with the rest of the video I agree. I called out sickick for faking it as well and his mixes are even more corny, more fake BUT people love it. that’s why many DJs polishing his uploads like crazy or even faking it to make it absolutely perfect to win on these platforms. and it’s not just TikTok. It’s basically on all social media and live shows as well.

Unfortunately, this was also a case not just for TikTok, also on YouTube, Facebook and other social media, there's always one "DJ" pretending to remixing it "live" but the truth is he made a remix in FL Studio, lmao..

That video was like a 5-Minute Crafts of "DJ-ing" world, YouTube and TikTok algorithms loves the fake stuff that's why my video on TikTok also got viral even though I obviously made my remix on Ableton and faked my "DJ-ing" (scratching using my chin and using a crossfader using my belly lol) to mock a fake "DJs" on social media..

Nick, as a professional dj who loves the culture I cannot respect that guy for faking that Superbowl Mash-up on TikTok. That is truly disrespecting the culture.

Ever since the technology changed and we were given dj controllers and the laptop dj was born, it has become so easy for anybody to be a DJ, back in my day you needed your mixer and 2 turntables and your amp, and the most important ingredient was your talent. I remember editing on a reel to reel was hard and took time, now you have a trigger button and Puff your edits are possible.

I saw the Tiktok, because a cousin sent it to me telling me "yo! you should post some crazy sh*t like that", and I noticed something weird on his screen, but since I'm a beginner DJ, I didn't know if I'm allowed to say it, but that looked fake.
It reminds me the guy who uploads his sets and his controller is actually disconnected.

What he's doing is taking away viewers and attention from genuine, talented DJs that spend hard earned time perfecting their craft and upload content to show their skills. He's taking the piss out of the very industry he's making it

I totally agree with you Nick! Seen this happen too many times, but with wan’a be DJs. But in his case with so many non-DJ followers on Tik Tok, they think he’s the best they’ve ever seen. It’s a magician’s illusion, it’s a show!

hahaha!! Another guy that fake "Live" mixes is OSOCITYNATION! He has great mixes don't get me wrong, but he goes to beaches and on top of buildings, and fake "Live" mixes. I've watched so many of his videos where he panics b/c the next song came in and he wasn't ready lol! I give him props, he has millions of followers, but if you are really good at live LIVE

Though I agree whatever you show in your videos you should be DJing live, however it was inspiring to hear that DJs are having success on Tik-Tok as that's in my plans after having success here on YouTube.
