The Wreck is one of the latest automatic watch releases from watchmaker Spinnaker. Weathered and hand patinaed, the Wreck is a bronze watch that looks as if it could be a watch recovered from a sunken vessel. It features a 43 mm bronzed stainless steel case which measures 14.5 mm thick and weighs 100 g. It also features a date complication and a sapphire crystal lens. The applied indexes and hands feature Swiss Superluminova for night visibility and inside you'll find the Seiko NH35 movement.

I think you were a little confused at the beginning of the video. The bezel is never mineral glass. It is either steel, aluminum, or ceramic. The crystal itself is either acrylic, glass, mineral glass, or synthetic sapphire. A ceramic bezel with a sapphire crystal is the most scratch resistant on a watch [in gross production].

280$ for nh35 and 100m water resistance is not value centric at all. Its pretty but on an Amazon sale you can get assorted nh35 200m water resistance watches for 50$

You seem really tired, just wait until the baby comes, you will be exhausted. Good luck bud.

I think the strap needs to look weathered too. That's what's throwing off the look. Not sure where you can find that though.

Maybe you could try some multicolored nato straps. I'm no fashion expert but I find that bands that fit the theme of the watch even though they don't match exactly in color can really seal the deal

Great video man maybe a crazy horse leather nato strap on Amazon!

Cut the buckle off? It probably has a springbar to remove it without cutting the strap.

Sorry, but this watch is not worth $280. Even with the Miyota auto movement. At that price point you can get an invicta watch with a Swiss Movement and a sapphire crystal.

I have my Spinnaker Bradner that I wore almost exclusively until I got my Boldr Field Medic II.

I absolutely WILL BE buying more from Spinnaker. Their products are high quality, let alone for the price!

for a bronze watch, a Navy Nato or Zulu strap might be a good choice. Sticking to the nautical look seems like a good choice.

Dark grey, dark grey looks good on anything

A Horween Chromexcel No. 8 (burgundy) strap would look good. If you know a custom maker they could even use the original buckle.

Good video as usual dude. Seems like a good watch but i'm not for "pre patina-ed" items. It's just not the same unless you either watch it happen yourself if it's new or if you know it happened whiled your father or grandfather watched it happen and passed it to you. I'm looking at getting the PONTVS Hydra Brass Black Diver Watch.

Maybe a neutral leather NATO and let it patina over time? I’ve been down a serious watch rabbit hole lately (even got another one today). Great video and good looking watch.
Edited: Btw, I’ve used mineral oil on my Occidental tool bags (neutral leather) and they looked weathered and beating down with time and sweat. Looks amazing.

I think you mean sapphire crystal instead of mineral crystal. Mineral crystal tends to be more shatter resistant, but scratches easily; whereas, sapphire crystals tend to be more scratch resistant, but can shatter more easily. Bezels are typically some sort of metal or ceramic unless they are cheap plastic like the G-Shock. ( I am biased, I am not a fan of Cassio watches).

For the band for the bronze case, I like the green band, though I think maybe a darker, drabber green might be better. I was also thinking maybe a contrasting color like nylon in white or orange. However, after further consideration, it seems to me you may need a band with a similar level of "distressing". But I really do think the color to go for is a light brown or khaki. I think that case would look awesome on a tan or khaki nylon band.

It does look nice but I am not that keen on pre-patinaed watches or any item to be honest. I think they could have gotten away with just slightly aged/darkened bronze and the patinaed dial as the dial is part of the story they selling but the scuffed up bezel is a bit naff IMHO.

Just checked that out on the Spinnaker site. Really like the color combo just wondering about the durability. Getting mixed feedback on Spinnakers.

@BestDamnEDC Noooo, don't cut the leather strap. There should be a spring bar that holds the buckle in.

Have you tried a light tan, almost gold strap? I think that would look great!
