Ukraine crisis: Russia to reply to US Thursday; the latter evaded questions on key issues

Russia will send a reply to the United States on the issue of security guarantees on Thursday (February 17), Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

Moscow will make the letter public, Lavrov said. Russia has demanded that Ukraine not be allowed to join NATO, something that Washington and Brussels have so far refused to promise.

Russia will continue talks with the West on all aspects of its s ecurity proposals, Lavrov said.
