MK11, he had blue fire. Just wasn't used for more than an intro.

So basically Liu Kang has always had Blue Flames since the beginning of when he first got his fire abilities. In one of Liu Kangs intro’s before fighting, you can see he has Blue and Yellow flames as well. And this intro in MK11 is called "Fighting Spirit". If this truly only applies to God Of Fire Liu Kang, I’m sure they would’ve named it "God Of Fire" or something like that. Meaning that even Base Liu Kang has access to this ability to use Blue Flames as well, he just never felt the need to use such power on anyone before is my theory.

My theory is he gave up his lightning powers and harnessd it into the amulet which he then gave to raiden in the story that has to be the only explanation as to why he doesn't have it anymore

I think some ppl forget that Liu Kang actually had blue fire in MK11 but I think it was mostly in the intros and victory animations

In invasion mode it shows lighting dmg or what ever it is and I think he still has lighting powers.

I think the blue fire represents how he merged with his revenant version before taking Raiden’s power

In invasions mode his character element is still fire and electricity so I assume he still has Raiden's powers but specifically chose to master fire
