This is scored for a string orchestra without violins (first and second violas, cellos and basses only).

Wow. This is a very tasty number which seems to predict the dramatic and weighty nature we would later hear with Wagner. In fact, if you were to play this for me without me knowing who the composer was, I would have guessed a very earlier work by the Bayrueth master himself.
