From my personal experience owning the Yamaha DBR12 they sound great, well balance between high’s and low’s. As far as the configurations, the EV will have a heavier low presents base on the fact the Yamaha D-Contour was set to off. If you run the Yamaha without a sub then you should select Main which pushes more bass, if your running a sub then you take off the D-Contour and set it to 100-120hz. Nonetheless they’re both great brands and its truly depends on the person at hand.

detesto essa coisa de "fan boy" de marcas, estava a procura de uma caixa de 15" que fosse realmente boa, mesmo não conhecendo e não tendo ouvido nenhuma caixa da EV, por recomendação de um amigo resolvi arriscar e comprei uma no mercado livre, e me surpreendeu a qualidade do som dessa marca, é um produto voltado para quem quer um som com muita qualidade e definição, e pra quem faz música ao vivo, já tinha ouvido as principais marcas e fiquei e se não fosse a EV teria oegado a Thump Mackie que também é uma ótima caixa, mais voltada a DJ, s mas top.
você que tá em dúvida sobre comprar uma EV, pode comprar que não vai se arrepender, principalmente se você for músico, a qualidade sonora supera as expectativas, e possui graves poderosos.

Able to hear actual sound of an EV powered speakers today in a wedding.It sounds clear and amazing. We also have Yamaha powered speakers at church which sounds good too.

When it comes to service and support, I would go for the YAMAHA for sure, when it comes to build quality, I would go for the YAMAHA for sure, when it comes experience in audio, I would go for the YAMAHA for sure, when it comes to the components quality, I would go for the YAMAHA for sure. so forget the EV.

Rapaz, não é possível que quem ouviu estas caixas ainda tem coragem de falar da Ev, Yamaha engoliu, som mais claro é nítido, vc sente todo trabalho que foi feito no studios nas músicas.
Por causa desse vídeo, vou comprar mesmo Yamaha.
Problema no Brasil de se ter esse tipo de equipamento são os picos de energia.

Why did you increase treble +5 and bass +5 in EV? Wouldn't be better leave both flat so that we could really compare both in "natural" settings? That's a freehearted question because I don't get it and can't come to any conclusion because of that.

I have both. The EV sounds cleaner. The yamaha has a bit more bass, and has more headroom.

i own DBR12 they sound fantastic!!!very loud, big sound pressure smooth sound 131 db anda garanty 500 watts of sound and cheap also!VERY RECOMEND, U can kick out sound for 300-400 people in 40-50 metres ballroom!

i think the ev lost its mid warmth because of the treble and bass boost.with that said the yamaha's sound louder and warmer

The Yamaha wins but the EV is alot cheaper also, here in Sweden Yamaha = 490$ vs EV = 380$
I've just bought the EV ZLX 12 BT since this was the best sounding at that price point with a Bluetooth integration. But maybe I should be looking at something else. The JBL EON12's did have BT but not streaming, that was my first choose since i'm an old JBL fan.

EV sounds too silibant, but that could be the eq settings, have you pounded them at a gig? Which do you prefer?

The Yamaha DBR12 sounds better, and simply has a clearer sound.  I have heard both speakers in person before.  The Yamaha DBR has the same drivers as the Yamaha DXR, just a different cabinet, and the amp has less power.  Good video!

nice video, I have the zlx 15 and mine are awesome. The only problem I have is. The Yamaha is a better speaker, but they cost $100.00 more than the EV. for the cost of a 15 Yamaha I could get a QSC k10. so far the comparison should be zlx vs eon. same price point. in this audio game $100.00 puts you in a different area. $1000.00 vs $1200.00 not on sale. for $1200.00 you could start looking at a Bose system. Just my 2 cents. Thank you for the video.
