The real question is why the prosthetic costs more than a car

Running becomes a need if you're running for your life. Insurance is weird.

You'd think insurance companies, specifically health/medical would WANT their claimants to exercise and be healthy so there's not more for them to cover later because of complications.

I can relate. I've been fighting my insurance tooth and limb to get an MRI. They paid for an invasive nerve conduction study that costs more and takes more time, but won't authorize am MRI of my spine. I have a chiari malformation, and quite Litterally they want my to do 4 months of PT for it - you can't do PT to fix a brain that's falling out of your skull

I love your attitude. Cutest smile even when you’re upset! God bless you. It’s insane, for sure!

Insurance and Medicare are some of the things America handles the worst, like how do you not give people basic needs at low prices?
My sister's entire body is disabled, so she can't walk very fast at all and gets very sore after walking for 20-30 minutes, so she needs a wheelchair, but she can't get a regualr wheelchair where you push the wheels bc her arms are very stiff, so she needs a power one.
She only just got one a few months ago bc she can technically still walk and the insurance company was being stingy with a BASIC NEED for my disabled sister. She just got her power wheel chair at the age of 13 and what a shocker my family still had to put thousands of dollars down on it to have it. My sister waited 13 years to finally be able to move without cramps and pain. What fun

But if you wanna play music with your leg, then here you go.

insurance companies have FAR too much power. They can flat out refuse a doctors orders. I know a man who is suffering during his last days cause they wont give him the medication he needs to keep breathing.

Bro I feel you. I house got hit by a tornado and luckily our house only had minor damages but a tree fell. My mom called insurance to get them to remove the tree but they wouldn’t remove it because the tree hadn’t fallen on our house it was laying on another tree. So my mom had to pay out of pocket to call someone to remove it. Insurance gives me a headache sometimes 😑😑

"Running is a want and not a need." Ah yes, we all only "want" and not "need" to run from danger. 😂

I have one leg shorter than the other and the left shoe needs a Platform so that I don't walk crooked. The dumb thing is that my insurance covers a single pair of shoes a year. Considering that I need different shoes for Sport, Work, free time and the fact that most of my shoes are destroyed by the end of the year, it doesn't make much sense. And sadly I can't afford even the 200$ it costs to get a second pair of shoes. We're living in a world where walking normally is a luxury 🤦
