Very powerful words, Aria. It is so sad that a black person is a suspect whether they are sitting as you were in your own car or sitting in their own home like Botham Jean. You could be simply going for a jog, or trying to make a living, we are being picked off. I love your protest songs, you put a voice to the voiceless. The protest and riots are necessary so that others can feel the same sense of loss as we feel in the black community. No other race of people have to wonder if either themselves or their loved ones will be able to live through the day just one more time. No wonder a lot of black people don't make long-range plans because some of us don't plan to be around long. I agree with you, black people should be able to feel as euphoric as any other race of people and until some changes are made in the justice system, like MLK said "there will be neither rest nor tranquility in America..." until there is police reform and blacks are allowed their pursuit of the American dream.
