As a mechanic, I know first-hand that the "stop-start" capability on most modern day vehicles (with the exception of hybrids) cause nothing but problems to normally aspirated and turbocharged engines. You're better off with a vehicle without it. I have had many of my own clients who absolutely hated the feature and had me disengage it so that it no longer functioned. It's a very minute savings in gas considering the wear and technology that goes into those stop start systems, especially over time. Skip it, get a car without it. 💯

Complains about average gas mileage, then brags about starting it from the plane.

I own the 2020 Ascent Limited with Package 23. I drove the Pilot and it has no soft touch materials in the same price range. I love the vehicle, it is comfortable and drives just fine. The acceleration doesn’t make anyone get sick, the reviewer is a bit overboard here. I’ve been able to accelerate just fine with the CVT.

The limited trim with 20” wheels is rated at 20/26 mpg. I would say 23mpg is good for a bunch of different drivers using it.

While I don't like that color, for some reason I like the conservative body style of the Subaru's.

Thank goodness it does not have a "stop/start" system, had it, I would not have bought one.

No disrespect to the guy in the video but PLEASE bring back Cooley! These reviews without him are so dry that I usually get my reviews from The Straight Pipes or another channel where the hosts seem invested in creating a good review and making it entertaining.

Start & Stop Functionality? Every serious driver is trying to avoid that...but has no choice anymore w/any of the new cars.

I think the is the best looking car Subaru has at the moment.

How is your Ascent today? Have you had any problems? Wow! Great Video! Thank you!

277 ft-lbs at 2, 000 rpms is a rush. You can quickly get used to the torque threshold. Very enjoyable to accelerate with the Ascent. I'm glad it doesn't have Start-Stop.

Most CVT hater might not necessary experienced one. Some just want to post negative info. You won’t
learn the beauty of Subaru until you owned one. Needless to say.

The Start/Stop in my 2021 Telluride hardly ever works so the Ascent isn’t missing anything.

We just bought a used 2019 Ascent Limited w/30K miles. Wish it had a sunroof... Tires were Uniroyals, and those were quickly changed to Michelin Cross Climate 2's; I have the same tires on our 2018 Outback. Ride improvement is great! Also much quieter than the Uniroyal tires or Bridgestone's that were OEM on the Outback. Tires are as great a part of the ride component as the suspension.

“Anonymous” is a perfect description for its exterior. Another would be “undecided” always looks like it has 3 or 4 different design themes going on.

Remember Subarus from the 80s, fill with character...

Subaru manages to stay afloat with the same design year after year. That Symmetrical AWD cult is real 😂

Personality...names some ugly ass SUVs, Subaru has it right, it's sporty and we'll looking enough to where it doesn't look garish or beat by the ugly stick compared to other modern vehicles

You said you had to use the remote light flash and beep to find the car because of it's anonymous looks, wouldn't that mean everything else in the lot looks the same?
