one thing to note in terms of itemholders, aatrox is INSANELY good at holding items, he can use almost all frontline items, and with some decent bruiser items he will absolutely outdamage your carry on stage 3, another note is that even an aatrox 1 will perform so much better than a lot of other item holders

The problem with the metatft tierlist is that is makes people including riot have a bad understanding of the game conditions bc they blindly follow a challenger tierlist. If we look at challenger games match history we see what wins... Mortdog doesnt seem to get that the list doesn't factor in how RNG a build is(though it sometimes comments on how it's rarely played and conditional).. just purely strength if you hit everything, which means you really need two lists; one for strength, and one for playability. Fast 9 legendaries is D tier in playability tierlist, for example...

Half the things in S tier are highroll asf, unlike lux or reapers, which are the true S tier in both categories..

I played garen hero twice. The first time I didn't itemize right and it sucked. Second time the comp was easy first once I had the right items and 6 warden

You missed the carry malphite x.x, I believe it is also C tier(or D tier) it is Rapid Firecannon and same stuff as Shen with the additional line that can also be played with heavenly instead of behemoth.

Great video! I just have a question. I'm currently hardstuck master 200lp, and I was wondering if you had any tips about default comps, because I feel like I know most of the meta really well, I always follow TFTAcademy and MetaTFT, etc, but there are sometimes where I just don't hit any of the conditions for any of the tops comps, like, I get some general AP itens and there's some people playing lux and Zyra already so I just try do default sage Lillia and get a 6th. So I was just wondering if you had any tips that could help.

With the Lux comp. Check the exalted units. I had a match where the exalted was all 2 costs and I believe it had Lux, Janna and Zyra as Exalted. I got 1st.

at 37:11 I'm sorry, but this comp looks really bad. You only have 2 frontline and your carries are 4 arcanists and Syndra doesn't go online until you hit Syndra 2. (fated syndra is still a thing so your syndra will most likely be contested) And as for Lissandra and Sett? you have to wait until level 9 to get them. You're probably already dead or not in the top 4. Considering how the meta is right now you need to snowball early till mid or you're legit just 8th.

Theirs a comp on mobalytics and called sage sisters and besides Yone destroying it most the time it’s genuinely broken the back line access is insane. Wukong crazy backline access. Morgana crazy backline access. Lillia crazy backline access. Rakan crazy backline access. Nautilus crazy backing across. If someone has aegis/ randuins or have to clump their team you can cheese some fights hard. Love the comp

Which comps do best against the lux comps? I swear I see them every game and they just mow over everyone else.

The dilemma is real, we love the balance, but then the meta seems "stale" for people, i personally love this set with encounters and pengu etc., just wished the mid set balance weren't so swingy, i thought this is one of the best sets

Just tried this shen comp and with bramble and for me it doesn't work. I would just stick with BT with 2 guinsoo's

Unfortunate theirs almost no melee comps. Just Yone/Kayn and duelist which is pretty unplayable without spat.

Mortdog is overly defensive of his team at times. I get personally attacking is wrong, but expressing that the balance hasn't been great majority of this set should be fine. I wonder if Mortdog has ever criticized the current balance team. And to top it off he's just listing the number of viable comps without looking what circumstances needs to be hit to make those comps viable.
