Honda Odyssey Vehicular Entertainment System (Ves) System 3.0 - a crazy diy

After modifying a Wii to offer games and videos from a USB stick (ves 2.0) and adding a pop out screen (2.1), I wanted something more modern for the driver that also offered maps and more useful apps.

Streaming things like YouTube instead of preloaded videos came up as something we wish we could do as well.

So, I mashed them all together and got... Vehicular Entertainment System (ves) 3.0!

very cool. I discovered when upgrading my wife's 2006 Odyssey Original radio, the lost function of the DVD controls and they don't offer a great after market radio that connects to all your plug in harnesses with respects to the system. This is a very hot setup. I would love to see a set by step of how you did this.

would you happen to have a wiring sketch for your setup? orignally my plan was to use the plug from existing stereo but it seems like as far as i can bring power to andriod head unit and use sound out put and bring it to orignal audio input that is better option. i believe thats the setup you have?

Does Car Steering Wheel Buttons still work ? And just to make sure the unit you installed is Atoto 86PF, I'll buy it and try to make it work just like you did minus the Wii situation.

I’m curious, if you are automatically switching the video line (I assume based on activity) - does the wii audio only go to the rear over headphones? I can’t figure out how you handle the audio switching from the head unit to the Wii…

I have an exl with factory nav and RES. I purchased an android radio for my van and plugged everything up but no sound. How did you know which wires to tap on the lower factory radio unit to allow for volume? Thanks for any info!!

I'm going to do this but kinda in reverse, i wanna have my aftermarket head unit drive the speakers and use that factory head unit for driving the RES display. Have you tried this?

thanks i wanna do this, i have an ex-l with the crappy nav system. which head did you buy do you like it? do you wish you got a different one? i see many out there for cheap, but i want a quality one that will last and isnt bggy/laggy. thanks!
