Roots and The Cave is when the story starts to all come together and you get the pieces of the puzzle that explain a lot of the past events. I really love this game series, wacky as it is lol. This isn't spoilers since you learned it in this game but the dude who you were feeding drinks to is the one that killed the lady in Seasons. You learned it was him (he turned into the shadow man that you saw kill her at the end) and why he killed her here. She left him to focus on healing herself since she was in a bad mental state and he couldn't handle it.

hope you play Roots soon!!! I think you'll like it a lot because it has a WAY clearer storyline than the Cube Escape series so far (but still with the normal amount of RL weirdness/abstraction). it has a big overarching story and a super interesting narrative device. a lot of fans say it's the best of the series

btw, the guy at the bar is Bob, the same guy in Case 23 with the police officer outside the office window. he was arrested on suspicion of Laura's (the creepy dead girl) murder. one of the later games has him as the protagonist :)

Oh! At 41:01, they've put Sanksrit in! The red forest reads "Narak" which means "Underworld/Hell" and the Ghostie reads "Pret" which means "Spirit" (the haunting kind). Kinda interested to see what the other pictures end up reading.

Edit: the crow says "Asur", which means Demon. Can't read what the fish says lol. According to the wikis, is says "Tiryagoni" and means animals.

Edit edit: Oh and the final ones, for the woman is "Manush" which means "Human" and the Question mark is "Dev" which means "God". That's all of em!

Edit the electric bugaloo: Updated language to Sanskrit from Hindi, since Tiryagyoni isn't existent in Hindi. So the language used is prolly Sanskrit instead, a parent language of Hindi, as pointed out in the replies.

Idk why but Birthday has always been my favorite. It has an immediate sense of dread, it’s almost silent hill esque. It’s terrifying in a way the others aren’t.

God I love cube escape. I used to play it with my two roommates, we’d drink some wine and sit cuddled up on the couch and solve the puzzles together. Then when I moved out I played them again with my boyfriend and his best friend. I really wanted to get to know his friend more and we really connected over these games. They bring back such good memories and I still play them sometimes even though I’ve memorized most of the puzzles now. I’m so glad gab decided to play them

That birthday party went from chill and wholesome to WTF real quick... 😵I think that one was my favourite of the Cube Escape games so far. Theatre was peak RL weirdness. Poor cocktail guy. Really happy that this series is back, I'm looking forward to Roots! 👍 (edit for typo)

My cat loves watching Gab videos with me but this one he was so intrigued by all the sounds. It was so cute to see him searching for the crow and investigating the neat little clicky noises. 🧡 Orange cat behavior for sure.

these games are so creepy, I binge watched them all when the last episode was posted and I had a nightmare about the creepy shadow people and I woke my boyfriend up and also made the dog bark in the middle of the night because I yelled "get out get out!" when the shadow creature ran at me in my dream haha

So you are Dale reliving certain parts of your life. If you play the white door, you find the man is robert, who was Laura's boyfriend who is there after finding out she has been killed.
He is unable to cope with Laura's death and is becoming corrupted.

It's always so interesting seeing someone play these games who hasn't played them multiple times before (like myself lol) because they are SUPER convoluted even with the clues they provide (like the drawing of the tree in the window). I am SOOO excited to see you play Rusty Lake Roots, hands down one of my favorites!!! Cube Escape: The Cave is my least favorite of the series (though it IS important). Those two games is when the lore/story/secret history really starts to come together!!

On a slight side note: my theory is that Dale's grandpa is Mr. Crow. He looks extremely similar to the man that meets Dale at the chapel in Case 23. Thoughts? (I'd explain more but that would lead into spoilers from Rusty Lake Roots and I don't want to give anything away!)

Also, I highly suggest that Gabs goes BACK to Cube Escape Theater after she plays Cube Escape Paradox, there's a super secret achievement that you can get that means a lot once you know more/most of the story. And there's actually another from theater for Case 23 (with the tv numbers again)
