Omg I can’t believe it worked!!! So for the last few weeks it takes me pushing the power button like 5-6 times on and off before the tv finally kicks in and picture turns on, then a couple nights ago, suddenly the picture shrinks down to about a 12 inch diameter area in the center of the screen that’s all fuzzy- and then picture goes black… sound stays on for another 20 seconds or so … then BAM… tv is dead. No lights no nothing. I found this video, bought the capacitors off amazon, and used my dad’s old soldering iron and old solder (literally- from the 70’s! Had it forever!) never soldered in my life… found another video on you tube showing for to solder a capacitor… and it was so easy!! I think it took longer to get all the screws out of the back of the tv than to take off and reattach the capacitors! Cannot thank you enough for this video!! Tv works great!!!

Extreme gratitude for making this video. It allowed my to fix my Vizio M60-C3 (same model, only 60" vs 70") and get it up and running again in a day.

In hopes of helping someone else identify the issue sooner. It started several weeks back where instead of the white light coming on and then a few seconds later the screen would come on and the Vizio logo, it started to happen that I would need to cycle the power off again with the remote, then back on for the picture to come up. A few days later that process needed to be repeated 2x, then later 3x, then later 4x, and eventually it would take about 10 mins of powering off and on before the picture actually came up.

Right before the TV completely failed to turn on I left it on for an entire day to avoid the cycling, that next morning the TV just randomly turned its picture off (sound was still going) and it never came back on. I tried to cycle power as before, but this time the white led in the left corner would never even come on, it was completely done.

Overnighted a 20 pack of 1000uf 16V caps and some solder wire from amazon prime, disassembled the TV, took off the power supply board, cut off the old caps, replaced with the new and soldered them on. I replaced all 7 of the 1000uf 16V in the upper right corner of the board, even though only 4 of them, the ones in the video, were visibly bulged. For $20 in parts and maybe 1-2 hours total in time its back up and running. Thanks for the video mate.

Hold my beer. I’m grabbing the screwdriver.

Seriously what did we do before youtube when I could have access to an electrical genius. I haven’t fully diagnosed or fixed yet, but you have definitely helped. Thank you for taking the time to post this video.

This video helped fix my friends Vizio M70 C3. Took off the back cover only to find those 4 1000uf 16V caps very expanded at the top. Replaced them with new ones and poof, the TV works again. Thank you for this awesome video. Easy fix for sure.

I just did this exact thing to my tv and it worked!! Cost was $4 and didn’t have to buy new one. It took me 1 hour to do it all.

My TV would turn on and then power back off. Replaced the four 16v 1000uf capacitors and it works perfectly. Make sure you replace with the 105°C capacitor! Great video thanks!!

Thanks so much for this video. I got a free M60-C3 because it wouldn't power on, so I checked and these same 4 caps were bulging a bit but not yet leaking. Swapped them out and the TV works great. I did test them after taking the old ones out and they were bad. Super cheap and easy fix for people who can solder.

So, I ran into your video, I have replaced the 4 capacitors, I am getting power to the main board, however, the lights will not come on, the TV light goes solid and fades out, and the optical input is red also, then after little time (few minutes) the TV goes back to off (its not connected to anything) I went even further and replaced the 3 capacitors to the right, same issue. What I did notice however is two things, out of the 3 capacitors top one, cant get any reading off of, before and after replacement, also, to the left, there is also a cord leading down, there are no voltage readings there either, could it be the power supply board after all?

Yes, I have fixed 3 out of 4 dead M60-C3's with exact same fix (bank of bad caps).

Just ordered a capacitor assortment off Amazon. I couldn't find any assortments of Japanese caps, just Chinese ones.
