Chuddy Chroming

The plaintiff hired the defendant to refinish his classic car, but when he went to pick it up, he found a piece missing and the rest of the job done incorrectly. The defendant made no attempt to correct the issue, so the plaintiff is suing for the money he spent. The defendant claims the plaintiff took one look at the job and left with the car, never giving a single complaint about the job done. He also says the lawsuit is odd because parts are not as expensive as the plaintiff is claiming.

Plaintiff: I’m an expert on my money 💰 😂😂

Plaintiff should've spoken up at the time he received the parts after inspecting each and every part.

Defendant is wrong and he’s a business who should have maintained the records if he did the work

My Dad always wanted to work on refurbishing vintage vehicles. He waited until he was retired and started his journey to purchasing his dream car, a vintage Willy's Coupe.

It took two vintage cars, and I don't exactly remember the brand; however, he had time now retired to work his way up, on his time.

One sold within 24 hours of listing, and the other was actually purchased while my dad was sharing pictures of the restoration.

He proudly has his Willy's, and works on it as he feels, he's in his 80's; however, it's completely restored and drivable now, it's just those little "perks" he wants to still add.

Judge may not know chrome but plaintiff sure doesn't know evidence.

He is not an expert on his money bc if he was he wouldn't be here/suing with NO evidence.

And he was slightly smiling when he was showing the parts not chromed. Right there i knew he was not possibly telling the truth.

Stainless can be chromed, but it would be inappropriate to do that if you're restoring a car. That should have been a conversation at the time of drop-off because maybe the guy wanted chrome instead of a proper restoration. Not communicating that bit me once, I accepted that I should have asked so I didn't charge.

The Plaintiff saying the judge isn't an expert on chrome, obviously he could have saved himself some time by learning a bit about chrome himself.

From Google
What is chrome on a bumper?

Chrome-plated bumpers start out as steel bumpers which are then electroplated with one or more layers of nickel. That's topped with a very thin layer of chromium. This withstands stone chips and weathers better than paint, but it's not flexible.

The chrome goes over the dull nickel used at the time and only polished on the face. This leave the back side with a grey color like the back side of aluminum foil.

The defendant was wrong about stainless steel
Stainless Steel can be Chrome Plated, but if you are looking purely at making it brighter and more decorative then it may be better to simply polish it.

I remember Justices Ginsberg and Scalia were being interviewed together and the person asked them if they ever wanted to bring an expert of their own into the case they were deciding. Both of them cut off the interviewer and said 'nope'. They were both adamant that expert witnesses were the job of the litigants, not the jurists or courts. If the subject matter isn't important enough for either of the litigants to expand on, then it isn't for the court either.

Shout out to Officer Douglas McIntosh. He doesn't get enough credit as a silent servant on PC. I admire the way he conducts himself.

I was never a fan of Officer Byrd on Judge Judy. He always seemed to be so grumpy/grouchy, even towards JJ. Perhaps it was an act for the show 🤷🏾‍♂️.

Douglas just seemed to be much more pleasant, but yet firm when needed. Just my opinion.
