Speakership ambitions, controversial and fringe statements Greene has made, and Boebert’s narrow reelection.

Kevin McCarthy has been wanting to become House Speaker ever since John Boehner retired, but Paul Ryan got the job, then the Democrats retook the House and Pelosi became the Speaker again. Given how small the Republican majority currently is, it would be the ultimate irony if just a handful of Republican Congressmen voted against McCarthy as House Speaker which results in Hakeem Jeffries becoming the House Speaker despite the Democrats not having the majority in the House.
