Thank you for joining us for the 2023 Project for Awesome! It was another wild and weird year filled with beans, Dr. Pepper, T RAX, lemons, cronching, and all kinds of other shenanigans.

Thanks to Seth Radley for editing this video!! And thanks to everyone who was a part of the 2023 Project for Awesome!

The oh no segment for John sneezing is really funny bc I feel like anyone who knows his work casually will think it's just normal fear of disease/germs but podcast listeners also have the added layer of sneezing is not normal 😂 thanks for posting this!

I love how like, a solid third of this is Hank doing crimes against beans

Watching Hank and John interacting outside of their respective contexts is quite a spectacle

Hearing that because of my heart health I might not make it to p4a 2024 makes me incredibly sad. It's definitely my favorite social media time of the year, and always a pleasure to be small part of. ❤❤

Truly delightful to see both what I remember being able to watch and seeing moments I missed the first time

Watching this I realized I missed so much and that maybe the solution is never sleeping during the P4A again.
Also this video filled me with so much joy it's bursting out of me.

I love the William Tell Overture intermittent throughout, but can’t help but wish they’d used Hank’s brilliant Trombone Champ rendition of the song

even though i participate in this community largely alone in my little corner of the world, it still makes me feel entirely unlonely.

I just read about your diagnosis and my heart is breaking for you and your family... I'm so sorry that you're having to battle this disgusting illness. My husband was 44 when he passed away from Stage IV metastatic gastric Adenocarcinoma (stomach cancer) last year so my sons and I are still struggling to adapt to life without him. When he was diagnosed in 2021, the cancer had already spread to his esophagus, liver, and four lymph nodes. His doctor said Stage IV and told us we had to prepare for the worst bc he'd be lucky to make it another year, (our sons were 11 and 3 at the time)... I'm sorry for babbling about it. I wanted to let you know that you aren't alone in this. The article made it seem like yours was caught early enough to treat and get you into remission soon enough. My mom's been in remission since 2018 and, other than getting CT scans or ultrasounds every 6 months, she thinks of her time with the dreaded disease as a bad nightmare that she was lucky to escape. My husband postponed seeing a doctor bc his job didn't offer health insurance and we couldn't afford it... I'm incredibly glad that you were able to be seen as quickly as possible (like my mom) so that you can make a full recovery and be around for many, many years to come. Please keep us updated about your progress bc we're hoping for the best possible outcome for you (remission!) My family and I will keep you and your family in our thoughts until you announce that you've beaten this terrible illness 💜

I still can't get over that Hank completely made up the part about needing to tape his phone to his foot for that call.

Hey, Hank, PBS just uploaded a video about how Montana is going to try to fix its teacher shortage in rural Montana. You probably know that PBS doesn't allow comments on its videos, so maybe you could tell them how Montana's state government has been deliberarely gutting the system. Maybe suggest they do some research, maybe read
Darrell Erlich' March 9, 2023, article "Montana's Slow War on the Public School System" in The Daily Montanan.
