The M235i is still based on the F55 MINI 5-door platform. It is just MINI in a BMW suit. The dual-clutch is because the new MINI drivetrain comes with the same DCT.

The exterior sucks it looks like a Kia stinger mixed with a dodge dart, but I do agree with the sentiment that people have lost all concept of what a good usable and still fast horsepower is. Almost all people complaining about every car not having 700 horsepower are the same people who crash their hellcat as soon as it slightly steps out

The reason this car exists, is it’s a performance oriented AWD mini cooper. It’s a nice competitor to all of the EURO AWD and USA Suburu WRX and Golf R. B48 motor is desired for subcompact market.

I own a RWD 2 series and love it, but if I did not want RWD, then this starts looking attractive.
