Gawd, he has the best sidemen in the business with bloody Abe Laboriel, Jr on drums! Wix who has been at his side forever, and Brian and Rusty are exemplary guitarists. And all that vocal firepower to back Macca. Sure he is totally diminished vocally, but he is the same bloody age as my mum! Only Bruce Springsteen delivers 3-hour concerts like this, which is totally amazeballs.

Continuous concerts are far more strenuous than the local club work that I have done over my lifetime. Sure, I have performed in 1000-seat venues such as the theatres on Norwegian Cruise ships with headliners, but this is an entirely different scale of operation. I have memories of when my twin brother and me started gigged the local military base NCO clubs when we were 17 years old. Those were brutally long 5-set gigs, and by then of the night, I was a pool of sweat and my back would be tweaking from the weight of my Les Paul guitar. I am now 61 years old and a 3-hour continuous gig would be quite the heavy lift. I much prefer Bistro gigs performing Brasilian Jazz while seated. And now Macca is north of 80 years old! I am here to tell you, people, it is bloody hard work.

Thanks for all your hard work, this was highly enjoyable! I did a Desert trip 'replay' tonight...SWEET. We went to the first weekend. I wonder which songs were different...

I attended weekend 2 of Desert Trip with my wife. I had seen Paul McCarthy once at Fenway Park in Boston, Desert Trip was a better concert because Paul was much more relaxed and he had a lot of fun especially jamming with Neil Young. Desert Trip was the best three day concert I ever went to.
