Everyone is talking about the Metaverse. But why are companies like Facebook and Microsoft putting so much time and money into this new "world"? In the early '90s, in his book ‘Snow Crash’, Neal Stephenson described the Metaverse as being immersed in a space consisting of virtual reality, mixed reality and augmented reality, along with all the tech you own. But there's so much more to it.
We all know how important it is to interact with other people. The Metaverse offers the possibility to sit online in front of a screen but at the same time feel like being in a real space. Our private as well as professional lives can be completely changed by this. True to our motto ‘New is Good’ I am of course also following this topic with great enthusiasm.
But new technologies are also always viewed critically. People need to be taken out of their comfort zone to discover new things.
