Professor Cristina Iannelli inaugural lecture - 26th April 2017

AQMeN Co-Director Cristina Iannelli gave her inaugural lecture, 'Degrees of Success: widening access to higher education and social mobility' in April. In her lecture, Cristina discussed the stark social inequalities in education and labour market outcomes that exist today and argues that, in addition to the well-known importance of individual and family factors, institutional factors - such as differentiation of institutions and curricula, and the extent of linkages between education and labour market – play a crucial role in shaping the unequal outcomes we observe.

Cristina's lecture was introduced by Rowena Arshad, Head of Moray House School of Education at the University of Edinburgh.
