Thanks for the video. I call it my second home. My fiance lives there and I visit frequently. I consider it a family city. Very low key. Not a lot of tourist are there from what I see. If you are thinking of buying real estate probably a great place to buy since they are still building up....the North side

I was there for two weeks. The north is very very safe. Cops are all over the place and the locals up north wear a lot of jewelry believe it or not.

Well, since its foundation Barranquilla has been a city far ahead from the others when it comes to development in Colombia. Basically because everything started there, the first seaport, the first airport, even the first 5 stars hotel in the country and so many other firsts here thanks to its location. For that very same reason you see a lot of different people when it comes to races/mixed races, there were italian, german, libanese, Chinese people who moved there during the good times that the city had in the past, and of course we had black people and native indigenous too.
It’s true that the city was kind of stuck in time for around 40 years, but it is now back on track.
As for the tourism, you’re right. Historically It has not been a place for that purpose, it has always been a business hub city, but I don’t think it’s reeeeally hidden hahaha, we host the second biggest carnival in the world and musically we’re very well known because of the cumbia which was born there and artists like Shakira, El Joe Arroyo and other vallenato singers. Additionally, not English friendly isn’t accurate, it’s the Colombian city with the highest levels of bilingualism. Aside from that, I really enjoyed your video and I’m glad you liked your stay in Barranquilla. 🫶🏻🤟🏻

Sup Wes, glad you found your way to Barranquilla as it's my under-the-radar favorite spot to escape Northeast Winters. They surprisingly have a lot of healthy places to eat: Snack Fit, Fit Choice and Healthy Food Gourmet. It's hot as camel balls right now so Bogota weather and vibe is where I want to be now.

I stayed in the North side by the Centro Comercial Buenavista and it's very beautiful and laid back.
El Caiman de Rio was my favorite hang out spot as well. Overall the food scene is great and I never gotten bored.

The South and el centro is def sketchy but overall the people are nice.

Barranquilleras are also hella beautiful!!
