5 loops with that many air bubbles in the loop is seriously nuts and will effect the temps

Most of the normal cases in the market nowadays get heatsoaked by these new gpu's, I think a watercooling a 4090 will transfer most of the heat to the radiator where it can be pushed away from your other components which can be helpful.

The reason the 4090s are so massive is due to air coolers rated for 600W, so I have an idea. What if GPUs are sold without coolers, but instead, have a standardized mount that lets consumers pick the coolers of their choice? Like the CPU coolers. For lower-powered cards, air cooling would be preferred for its simplicity, while for high-end cards like the 4090, water cooling is preferred due to their immense heat.

Went with the corsair block this round. Very happy with it. Former EK engineer is now at Corsair designing the blocks. The thermal paste and pads are pre-applied, relatively cheap, and Corsair has been awesome for me when it comes to Customer Service.

be interested to see difference with no air in the loop

The GPU is at 60C in a open test bench, but I bet in a case it can be 5C-10C hotter. In that regard, perhaps water cooling is worth it.

I used to water cool my GPUs all the time as the stock coolers were never good enough for me but these 4090's are incredible and fill in the space nicely.
Just waiting on a White 4090 Strix now 😁

Hope the 4070 custom design also get a cooler that can keep the card at 60°C with 65% Fan... That would be awesome.
Silent and powerfull, thats whats needed

I love your videos, straight to the point no bullshit, I was worried about my Gainward phantom vrm after buildzoids video, I think the Gainward has slightly better vrm than the trinity, but to hear you say don’t worry about the whole vrm thing puts my mind at ease 😂

2 points for moist and girth in one video, -1 for the clickbate 100vs30c title that was not in the video. Excellent work.

Out of all the models you‘ve tested which one tended to have the least coil whine? Only relevant aspect for me when water cooling. Thx for the content, Jufes and supporters!

The new aircoolers are crazy cool BUT to get your GPU down to a serious size you need to water cool it.. So you are always coming back to water cooling

Those air bubbles are actually hurting the performance a lot, it should be a few C better than that once the air works out of the loop. Pretty much on par with an EK block, my 3090 at 500w runs around 50C. Preordered an EK block for my 4090, only because I can, I’d get a Bykski if they had one specifically for the MSI Gaming Trio, I’d give them a chance. One thing though, I still think EK’s active back plates are better. However I’m not ever doing that again unless they improve the design by adding fins. I actually got WORSE cooling with an active back plate vs a solid back plate with a 140mm fan pointed at it at minimum RPM. And motherboards are not designed to fit cards with crap on top of them.

60 degrees with the stock air cooling is not bad. If you want to increase the cooling capacity of the water-cooled set-up, add an active cooling water block to the back side of the card like EK is planning on releasing (which will cost $400 USD) and add a bigger radiator with more fans. Without cooling the rear of the board you're leaving quite a bit of cooling capacity on the table. Heat transfer gets more challenging the closer the water temp delta is to ambient temperature. 500 watts of heat energy is huge, add a 12900 or 13900 adds another 200-300 watts to the loop when everything is running "flat out" you're getting close to having to dissipating the heat of a hair dryer. The real benefit getting the temps down is that it increases the life and reliability of the electronics. Grate video as always

I would really like to see a video comparing multiple water blocks on the same card in the same system.
Heaterkiller vs EKWB vs Bbykski

I've had a good experience with EKWB when my d5 pump went out. The only downside is that I'm in the states and they're in Slovenia so the customer support has a delay. They simply asked me to provide some evidence that the pump was going out, so I sent them a video of it doing its craziness and they ended up sending me a new pump, ultimately at no cost to me. I had to pay for it up front only because I didn't want to ship it off and wait for the new one to get in. But they reimbursed me the full amount and covered it under warranty.

Also, I don't understand why the clock went only to 2950 MHz - wasn't that one of the seven 4090s that you all got up to 3050-3160 MHz? Btw, all these air bubbles are probably hurting thermals, especially if they are forced through the lamellas of the block. Not sure if that's the case though.

RGB is good for babies and toddlers. A flashing light show while working at the computer, while watching a movie on the computer or while playing a game, say a dark brooding game like Metro is a distraction, an absurd distraction.

Not bad for half the price of EK! I'm seeing max OC temps of ~42C with my 4090 FE w/EK block (dual 420's + Heatkiller CPU block in the loop, liquid metal on the 4090).

I dunno what I'm more jealous of....the 4090 or the kitty lol
