It's not shoplifting. It's looting with violence in some cases.

With the sharp rise of illegal immigrants in the UK its no surprise there is a sharp rise in shoplifting.
Cost of living may be a small part of the problem, but, its not the main reason.

Shoplifting is not just a result of cost of living but the poor justice system and policing. This country needs to change the law against shoplifting with heavy fines and big jail times wether it's a 1p product or £100 plus product being stolen. But I doubt on anything being done cos what I hear most lefties sympathize those criminals as poor victims which in most cases they are not.

Free stuff, this is what happens when there is no law and order and crimes decriminalised such as looting, shoplifting, and burglary. Police do not consider these serious enough they have higher priorities like hate speech and hurtful words.

This is how the breakdown of society will start, and it has started, we have brought this on ourselves through greed, even the shops.

All about entitlement, free everything, benefits, food banks and shoplifting, they won’t work for anything. I’ve never had the urge to shoplift anything and never will.

I worked in supermarkets for years in the 90s & early 00s it was bad then & the police did not want to know. I'm sure its far worse now. It wasn't people stealing because they were hungry it was gangs coming in stealing £40-£50 a time mainly to fund a drug problem. Its even worse now because shops are open until late at night or even 24 hrs a day. Most of the time these supermarkets only have a few junior staff in charge during the unsocial hours times.

It's not an epidemic of shoplifting it's 13 years of conservative mismanagement of public services.

I worked in retail in 2014 and guess what, managers didn't report losses to police because police wouldn't bother to come.

Lot’s of people just walk into Marks & Spencer and think they can just help themselves to a steak and alcohol and walk out

Some shops could redress their price profit structure to support cost of living. No room for looting that's terrorism in peace time

"It's a civil-matter, we're not getting involved" is the police's favourite-phrase thesedays! 🙄

It's like their version of "it's an ecumenical matter" from Father Ted! 😂

I don't see a problem with shoplifting, I do see a problem with the current disparity between wages and prices. Sort that out, then maybe shoplifting will decline? No? Oh well, be mad 😂
