Building & Rope PUZZLE || Think outside the box

you are trapped on top of a building.
Height of the building is 200 meters.
you have a rope of length 150 meters.
There is a hook at the top where you are standing....
You know that there is a ledge with another hook midway between you and the ground.... i.e. 100 meters away from you.
you have a sharp knife with you.
Puzzle :
How can you come down safely with the help of the Rope, the knife and the two hooks ?

There was exit door is closed. But, I can use steps right..! So, will come to the 2nd hook by steps and then from there i will come down by using 2nd hook and rope. I don't want to use knife and all..😂

Hi Ammar, you are the best! My highest respect to you for the time and effort spent on all your puzzles!
I am a puzzle creator and magician. When I read comments of your fans, some of them don't understand these are logical puzzles; they are not meant to be taken too literally.
Any puzzle can be easily changed to fit other real-life situations (including computer programming). You may educate your fans what logical puzzles aim to achieve.

In this rope puzzle, making a loop knot will shorten the 50m rope and thus will not allow you to reach the 50m mark (with the 100m rope bent into two equal halves). If you say you can reach the 50m mark since your legs can touch the ledge is "cheating".
Making a "self-release" knot is also cheating this logical question.

You may consider changing this puzzle to:

200m building
First Hook at top
Second Hook at 150m height (Ledge is only on one side of the building)
150m rope
No knife
Measuring tape

Suggested solution:

Measure and tie the 50m mark of rope on the First Hook. Climb down the part of the 50m rope to the Second Hook and tie the end of the rope around the Second Hook.
When it is secured and taut, climb up again to First Hook. Release the knot on the First Hook.

Jump down from the top of the building while holding on the rope (on the side of the building that has no ledge).
You should reach the ground.

Best way he could have tied the rope on his waist and hold the rope on the other end passing on hook..slowly slowly he can release the rope from other end and could slide down to second hook and again repeat the same procedure or he can tie the end of one side to hook and slide down to bottom safely

You could use a particular knot that requires constant pressure to get down so when it gets loose it falls off

My idea was cutting the rope down its length to have 2 150m ropes half the thickness of the original one, as it was not specified how much weight can the rope carry

My solution was to tie the rope to 1st hook and come down and tie its end to the second hook then go up to about 7th floor and cut the rope and swing safely to the ground like Tarzan lol

Actually when you tie the rope on hook and make loop you will loose many meters. So small injury is possible.

I will open the rope (a rope is made up of 4 thinner ropes) and rearrange into 200M length...

Just make a loop on one end of 150 m rope, stuck the hook into the loop n slide down to 100 m ledge, shook the rope n the loop will hop out of the hook since no weight is hangin' on it, now stuck the loop in the 100 m hook and slide down. Also their are few knots which are tight when weight is hanging on it and becomes loose as it slacks.
Fun fact: It can be done without knife and without that extra 50 m long rope

You'll still be off by a meter or so due to the length of rope necessary to make the knot at the top and the loop at the bottom. So don't miss the drop to the hook!
