In this Am I Evil? guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this popular Metallica cover in it's entirety.

This cover of a Diamond Head song originally appeared as a B-side of their single "Creeping Death" in 1984. The cover was re-released on their 1998 covers album Garage Inc..

The tuning is standard tuning.

In the first video lesson, I will demonstrate all of the rhythm guitar parts in the order that they appear in the song. In addition to that, I will cover Kirk Hammett's quick little solo in the intro of the song as well.

The main riffs are pretty simple, but a little later in the song, there are some thrash style rhythms that can be a bit tricky.

In the second video, I will cover Kirk Hammett's epic solo note-for-note.

There is a lot going on in this solo, with some very musical sections and others that are complete chaos.

I will go through the solo phrase-by-phrase.

I hope you enjoy learning this great Metallica cover! #amievilguitarlesson #metallica #guitarcovers

Really needed to see that last bridge riff at 7:16. Slightly different from the tabs I've seen but sounds much more like the Garage Days recording.
However the most impressive thing in this video? Chugging on a Floyd Rose and it stayed in tune, bravo! 👏

I am 2 years late to the party as ever..

**thinks** "I'd love specifically to learn to play the Metallica version of Am I Evil. I wonder if Guitar365 has got this down yet?"

Always on point, thanks again Carl!

Just watching your fingers playing power chords I was amazed. I use my index and pinky too. Thought I was doing it wrong but you do it that way too. So thanks I just thought I was a bad player. Only been playing 2 years and it’s the most comfortable way I can play power chords.
