Reason it’s physically impossible without electricity:

Balls make friction with metal, converting ball’s gravitational potential energy into heat and sound. This fraction of energy is dissipated to surroundings, and no longer inside the ball, therefore ball cannot reach same height as before with it’s leftover energy.
