I was quite convinced by CI but I have to say you've made a great case against it in your videos.

I actually didn't have any English classes in school (I left school before I turned 13), BUT: I grew up with French and Dutch, which offer a solid foundation for English. And while it took me two or three years to become fluent in English, I literally spent the vast majority of my time immersed in English (series and movies, YouTube, chatting online, etc.), which added up to thousands of hours. As an adult with not that much free time, it would presumably take a lot longer.

Although, to be fair, I think when people say they learned English only with comprehensible input, I doubt that's exactly true (even if we don't take classes into account). While I didn't take classes (except a handful for a few months), I chatted with people (I would look up words or they would correct me), I would look up words from subtitles, etc.
