The only aim in Rust is to survive.

To do this you will need to overcome struggles such as hunger, thirst and cold. Build a fire. Build a shelter. Kill animals for meat. Protect yourself from other players, and kill them for meat. Create alliances with other players and form a town.

makes me wish all mounuments had there own little uefulness, like maybe junkyard for better srap. harbour for bettter fish/food and rope? trainyard for more components, idk

first 30 mins of wipe - 10 man group mining for stone at the site

How about they fix the swimming mechanics? You know like player buoyancy, so that you stay on top of the waves and aren't constantly becoming engulfed by waves that make it impossible to see anything.

Did some quick maths and this isn't Really worth it. Assuming we're calculating using scrap - and we are since it's the universal currency of the game - If you were to, for instance, use the golly ol' vending machines and NPCs, then you could trade 1, 500 scrap for 3000 Low Grade, then trade 3, 000 Low Grade for 10X Diesel, then use that to get 400 HQM, and trade that for scrap at the bandit camp to end up with 1, 200 scrap for a Profit -300 scrap. So I went to a monument, used sulfur (ammo) to take out scientists, probably got killed 3 times by Zergs trying to get there, pull it off, mine, and make it home, and all for an overall loss of 300 scrap.


Now you might say, well yeah, but what if you aren't buying the Diesel. Okay, then yeah, you're trading something you got for free while running ship/dome + time for some materials, and as long as you don't get killed then you'll get more resources than if you spent the same time mining nodes with a jackhammer, but I really don't think it will be that much more, especially considering you would have to have a duo/trio to run this (for normal people) and 3 people with jackhammers in mines/cliffs can pull 14 stacks of metal ore Vanilla without an issue IMHO.


In Rust I feel like the universal currency either has to be time or scrap - for instance, should I run boxes to get DB on wipe day, or just buy it from someone's shop who already has for 150 scrap. It's a consideration of Time, how much time is it going to take me to get 150 scrap from barrels vs. how much time do I think it's going to take me to get it out of a box on the road (+ the other components I am going to get from doing it either way).


If you want to run this for fun, because it's fun, and you aren't concerned about the ammo or time and you're just looking for something to do because you are bored of doing the same thing every wipe, then sure, yeah, this is cool, but if the loot isn't that great as he says in the video, and you're supposed to go there for the mining action, then I really think they either need to make running this WAY more accessible (increasing the diesel availability or decreasing the price) or increase the yield / potentially have it mine all of those things at the same time at like .5x the current rate, doubling the effective yield and facilitating some commerce potentially, or it just isn't 'worth' it.

Personally, I think this will just destroy the game. A giant zerg could just take turns sitting here for hours and farming up tons of sulfur to raid everyone in a 10 square radius.

Honestly, a mining boat sounds better so nobody can wall it off and it can constantly change positions, you could even make it stop at oil rig or harbors, The excavator is definitely going to be a place people make sniping towers at or wall off so its only going to benefit people who roof camp or zerg. Still love that stuff is added constantly so cant complain much since its not even in the game yet

while the utility of the monument isnt good for solo use i can see the potential for solos to take advantage of how split up groups will be at this monument, and therefore may actually give solos a bigger chance of making plays

I personally really really enjoy the oil rig, and that the ai is there and you have to fight them. So, I am very excited to see there’s another monument that has that, you not only have the challenge of players but also ai and that is great. I really look forward to logging in on next wipe and seeing a million bases around it lol. I’m very excited to hop into it and explore it.
