Glarus Switzerland 4K Beautiful Town Swiss Alps

Glarus is a beautiful town in the heart of Switzerland, surrounded by the marvellous mountains of the Swiss Alps. Glarus is the smallest cantonal capital in Switzerland and lies at 474 metres above sea level at the foot of the impressive Glärnisch mountain. Due to a major fire in 1861, which destroyed a large part of the town, the streets of the main town of Glarus are laid out in a grid pattern and there are hardly any old houses left. Not far from Glarus lies the hiking region of the Klöntal valley with the wonderful Klöntalersee lake and the mystical Obersee lake in the valley next to it.
